2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards - 18th SAG Awards

Be prepared for another star-studded event as we celebrate another night of music, entertainment and festivities for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards presented this January 29, 2012. The SAG Awards as it is fondly called, will honor the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2011. The venue of the awards event is at the historic rine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California which has been the home of the Screen Actors Guild Awards for 16 consecutive years now.

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2012, The yearly honors presentation has been recognized by industry critics as being simple yet stylish and excluding a sense of genuine warth and solidarity among the entertainment circles. The SAG Awards has become film and entertainment's most prized honors as it is the only TV awards show to honor performers, presenting thirteen awards for acting in film and television in a relatively fast-moving two hour show. The Screen Actors Guild Awards focus on both individual performances as well as on the work of the entire ensemble of a drama series and comedy series, and the cast of a motion picture - awards that are fundamental to the spirit of the Screen Actors Guild Awards because they recognize what all actors know: acting is a collaborative art.

2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards Presenters. In conjucntion with film industry's most respected awards, the presenters for the SAG Awards this year is a list of the most recognized and talented film personas. The list includes Kathy Bates, George Clooney, Jessica Chastain, Sir Ben Kingsley, Melissa McCarthy, Brad Pitt, Zoe Saldana, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Bérénice Bejo, Glenn Close, Bryan Cranston, Viola Davis, Shailene Woodley, Kevin Bacon, Kenneth Branagh, Jean Dujardin, Tina Fey, John Krasinski, Kyra Sedgwick, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Julianna Margulies, Natalie Portman and SAG President Ken Howard. Also in the list of SAG Awards presenters are first-time actor nominees Kyle Chandler, Judy Greer, Maya Rudolph and Octavia Spencer.

Other highlights of the Screen Actors Guild Awards include the Life Achievement Award, presented to an established performer for fostering the highest ideals of the acting profession and tributes to the varied talents within the Guild’s membership. Mary Tyler Moore will receive this year's 48th Life Achievement Award.
